Concentrates CITRASATE®

CITRASATE® is an acidic HD concentrate that represents the first innovation in the dialysis solution since the return to haemodialysis using bicarbonate in the 80's. Citric acid is used as an acidifying agent instead of traditionally used acidic acid. It can be used for bicarbonate haemodialysis as well as on-line haemofiltration.

Benefits for dialyzed patients

  • significant improvement of the dialytic dose (spKt/V at 5-7%) (3,4,5)
  • possibility of the heparin dose reduction (2, 7, 9)
  • proven improvement in dialysis procedure biocompatibility (6, 8, 9)
  • reduced bleeding after dialysis (2)
  • use for specific applications (patients with HIT, contraindications to heparin, trauma) (1)
